About Douglaston Manor (Historic District), Queens
The historic district in Douglaston Manor has 631 buildings and three contributing sites located on a mile-long peninsula that extends into Little Neck Bay. Among all these buildings, only one is in residential use. Most of these structures were built in the early to mid-20th century, and exhibit various styles. Some of these houses emit a Victorian flair, while some project a Tudor feel or Mediterranean inspired exterior. The historic district was planned to be a suburban community called “Douglas Manor”. During the early 20th century, the Rickert-Finlay Realty Company in Manhattan purchased some of the acres, forming the Douglas Manor Association, creating a planned community.
